Concrete Sustainability Council Annual Report 2023 Unveiled: A Year of Progress and additional recognitions

The Concrete Sustainability Council (CSC) has released its Annual Report for 2023, offering a comprehensive overview of certificates issued, responsible sourcing performance, innovation, and continuous improvement. This report outlines CSC’s strategic achievements in pursuit of sustainable cities and broader environmental, social, management and economic objectives.

CSC’s expansion into new territories with the first certifications in Finland, Lithuania, and Norway, as well as over 900 valid plant certifications across four continents by year-end, demonstrates CSC’s ongoing efforts to promote and support the production and use of sustainable concrete globally.  This growth is supported by further recognition from additionalGreen building labels such as B.E.S.T from CEDBIK and CASA, underscoring CSC’s growing influence in the green building procurement arena.

Moreover, CSC’s engagement with the Global Alliance for Buildings and Construction ( Global ABC) and the appointment of Grey Matters as the Regional System Operator the for MENA region reflect its expanding global presence and commitment to transparency and credibility.

As revealed in the report, all CSC certifications conducted in 2023 under System Version 2.1 were meticulously monitored and evaluated, ensuring adherence to the council’s rigorous standards.

Looking ahead to 2024, the CSC anticipates further growth, with the delivery of more certifications and expansions into news countries and regions, reinforcing CSC community’s collective efforts towards a sustainable future.
