De Putman Groep has received the Silver CSC Certificate ( Concrete Sustainability Council) for its Westervoort site, where the family- owned company produces circular construction materials. Vivian Putman and Stefan Putman received the certificate from Richie Hilgersom (Kiwa) and Remco Kerkhoven ( Betonhuis). The certificate guarantees the responsible production of concrete. With this achievement, Putman, a raw materials producer, has obtained its second silver certificate within one year.
The certification was carried out according to the renewed and stricter standard: CSC 3.0 Against this new benchmark, De Putman Groep achieved an impressively high score in structured, safe, and healthy working practices. ” Exactly what you would expect from this close-knit family business, ” said Richie Hilgerom of Kiwa.
Earlier this year, the company’s German site, Kieswerk Wissel GmbH, also received the silver CSC certificate as a sustainable supplier of primary sand and gravel.
Reducing CO₂ footprint
Since 2008, De Putman Groep has been reducing its ecological footprint in raw material extraction and recycling. The installations are fully electrified, operations are natural gas–free, and the recycling process is largely powered by energy generated from its own solar panels. The company supplies raw materials with a low environmental cost indicator (MKI), both primary and circular.
