After successfully achieving CSC certification for its operations in Austria and Slovenia, Alpacem has now expanded its commitment to sustainable construction practices to Italy. Alpacem Italia has obtained CSC certification for three sites and seven ready-mix concrete plants, demonstrating the company’s dedication to responsible sourcing, environmental stewardship, and transparent business practices across its operations.
The CSC (Concrete Sustainability Council) certification is an internationally recognized, independent assessment system that evaluates sustainability performance across the concrete supply chain, from raw material extraction and cement production to concrete manufacturing and distribution. The certification demonstrates that Alpacem Italia meets rigorous standards in environmental, social, and economic sustainability.
As part of the certification process, Alpacem Italia underwent a comprehensive independent audit conducted by VDZ, an approved CSC Certification Body. The assessment evaluated a wide range of sustainability criteria, including responsible sourcing of raw materials, energy efficiency, CO₂ emissions reduction, occupational health and safety, employee wellbeing, ethical business conduct, biodiversity protection, sustainable transportation, stakeholder engagement, and transparent reporting.
To better understand the company’s sustainability initiatives and operations, The CSC managing director Tobias Laurens had the opportunity to visit Alpacem Italia’s facilities and meet with members of the team involved in the certification process. During the visit, he gained firsthand insight into the measures implemented across the organization to support sustainable production and continuous improvement.
The visit highlighted Alpacem Italia’s long-term commitment to integrating sustainability into its business strategy and daily operations.
