The Colombian Ministry of Housing, City and Territory has issued Resolution 0194 of 2025, updating the national guidelines for promoting sustainable construction in new buildings
The Resolution recognizes the Concrete Sustainability Council (CSC) as a reference criteria for demonstrating compliance with several requirements related to sustainable construction materials. This recognition confirms the relevance of CSC certification within Colombia’s evolving regulatory and policy framework for sustainable buildings.
The technical annex of the Resolution defines the criteria used to classify a building as sustainable across its life cycle. These criteria include, among others
Water management practices
Global Warming Potential (GWP) and environmental performance information
Use of third-party certified sustainable materials
Circular economy and resource efficiency practices
CSC certification is referenced as one of the tools that can support the validation of good sustainability practices in these areas, providing transparent and third-party verified information on material sustainability performance
