December 1, 2025

The Concrete Sustainability Council (CSC) has released an updated version of its Technical Manuals and Annex, introducing several clarifications and improvements

Key Updates in the Technical Manual

E3.03 & E7.03 – Data reference timing at certification is now aligned with M5.01.

S4.07 Preventive Medical Examination – All employees must be offered a regular preventive medical check-up at least every three years, at no cost, following recommendations such as those in the GCCA Health Management Handbook.

M5.01 Platinum Requirement – Minimum requirement set at 4 points.

Precast Concrete Without Concrete Production (3.0 English) – The mandatory requirement for E4.08 Clean Air Silos may be waived, as precast plants without fresh concrete production typically do not operate silos.

Key Updates in the Technical Manual – Annex

M4.02 Certified Health & Safety Management System – For the Netherlands and Belgium, VCA** (2 points) has been added.

M5.01 Publishing Annual KPIs – Recognition added for CRSD/ESRS, EMAS (4 points), and for Germany: Deutscher Nachhaltigkeitskodex (4 points).

M5.02 Externally Verified KPIs – Added: ISSA 5000 (2 points); EMAS Verification Statement (1 point), for the Netherlands: Dutch Standards 3000A/3000D (2 points); for Italy: SSAE (2 points).

E1.02 – E1.04 Emission Reporting & EPD Requirements – Including for the Netherlands: product-specific entries in the National Milieu Database (NMD), Category 1.

These updates strengthen clarity, harmonisation, and regional applicability across the CSC certification system.
