The Concrete Sustainability Council certification system, which was implemented in Türkiye by the Turkish Ready Mixed Concrete Association, continues to expand its influence across the construction sector. Following independent audits conducted by the Economic Enterprise of KGS, a Certification Body accredited by the Concrete Sustainability Council, Limak Anka Cement Plant was certified at the “Platinum” level, the highest certification level within the system. With this achievement, Limak Anka Cement Plant has become the first cement plant in Türkiye to receive a CSC “Platinum” Certificate.
A ceremony celebrating this milestone was held on October 20, 2025, in Ankara, hosted by Limak Cement. During the event, Yavuz Işık, Chairman of the Turkish Ready Mixed Concrete Association, presented the CSC Platinum Certificate to Erkam Kocakerim, Global CEO of Limak Cement, following a series of speeches highlighting the importance of sustainability in the sector and the crucial role of the CSC certification system.
In his speech during the ceremony, THBB Chairman Yavuz Işık emphasized the importance of sustainability, and of CSC Certification, congratulating Limak Cement:
CSC Certification System evaluates producers under four main categories — “Management,” “Environment,” “Economy,” and “Social” — Işık said: “As of today, there are 1,514 certified plants worldwide. In Türkiye, a total of 26 plants — including nine cement plants, twelve concrete plants, and five aggregate plants — are currently CSC certified. Limak Cement’s Anka Cement Plant, a THBB member, has taken a pioneering step by becoming the first cement plant in Türkiye to be certified at the ‘Platinum’ level. I sincerely congratulate Limak Cement on this valuable achievement and hope its sustainability-focused efforts will continue to inspire our sector.”
