The Concrete Sustainability Council (CSC) and Envision have launched a new factsheet to guide construction and infrastructure professionals in integrating sustainability effectively. The resource demonstrates how CSC certification and the Envision framework complement each other to drive measurable environmental, social, and governance outcomes.
CSC-certified concrete (version 3.0 and above) is recognized by Envision as a third-party verified sustainability program. The factsheet highlights how CSC certification contributes to key Envision credits:
RA1.1 Support Sustainable Procurement Practices – Gold and Platinum certificates support all achievement levels.
RA1.2 Use Recycled Materials – Silver, Gold and Platinum certificates with the voluntary R-Module contribute to all achievement levels.
CR1.1 Reduce Net Embodied Carbon – Silver, Gold and Platinum certificates with the voluntary CO2-Module support all achievement levels.
Social, Safety, and Environmental Credits – CSC certification aligns with community engagement, construction safety, equity, water management, and biodiversity conservation credits.
“This factsheet provides a practical roadmap for leveraging CSC-certified concrete to achieve Envision credits, helping project teams deliver sustainable and resilient infrastructure,” says Christian Artelt, CSC’s chair.
The factsheet is available for download on the CSC Website under the Resources section.
