Holcim’s cement plants in Mannersdorf and Retznei have earned Platinum certification under the Concrete Sustainability Council (CSC) 3.0 system, the highest global rating for sustainable practices in the cement industry. With a score of 97 out of 100, Holcim Austria now holds the top global ranking among cement plants.
This achievement aligns Holcim with major sustainable building certifications like ÖGNI, DGNB, LEED, and BREEAM.
“We recently celebrated receiving CSC Gold certification, and now, under the expanded 3.0 system, we have achieved Platinum with the highest score awarded globally among cement plants. I extend my deep gratitude to the entire Holcim Austria team, who embody sustainability daily in every aspect of their work, laying the foundation for this excellent assessment of our business activities,” said Haimo Primas, CEO of Holcim (Austria) and Holcim Cement CE Holding.
Over half of its cement sales already meet the EU Taxonomy Standard for climate change mitigation. Holcim is investing over €400 million in decarbonization projects, including the C2PAT+ initiative, to achieve Net Zero cement plants in Austria by 2030.
Holcim also leads through innovation with its Sustainable Construction Academy, partnering with global experts to advance green building practices.
