The Güteverband Transportbeton (GVTB), Austria’s leading representative of the ready-mixed concrete sector, has been officially recognized as the new Regional System Operator (RSO) for the Concrete Sustainability Council (CSC) in Austria. This notable appointment is in line with GVTB’s commitment to advancing sustainability in the concrete industry.
GVTB, which represents approximately 90% of Austria’s ready-mixed concrete market with over 230 plants nationwide, has been closely monitoring the progress of CSC since 2018. Having witnessed CSC’s success and impact in Germany, GVTB recognizes the certification system’s potential to drive substantial improvements in sustainability within the concrete sector.
With the pressing climate goals and the industry’s evolving challenges, GVTB considers CSC a vital tool to quantify and highlight the industry’s strides toward more sustainable practices. The move to act as an RSO aligns with GVTB’s mission to enhance and support sustainable production methods.
