The Concrete Sustainability Council (CSC) has announced the release of an updated version of its Technical Manual Annex V3.0. This latest update brings important enhancements aimed at further improving the sustainability certification process
New LCA Tools Integrated:
openLCA: The open-source LCA software has been officially added as a recognized tool within the CSC framework, offering an expanded range of methodologies for environmental performance assessments.
GVTB GWP-Rechner V1.0: This German-language LCA tool has also been included, providing a new option for calculating Global Warming Potential (GWP) in line with CSC certification requirements. It is a tool used by the members of GVTB, the Regional System Operator in Austria.
New Evidence Requirement Added:
E2.02 for Cement Grinders/Blenders: Under the new guidelines, the evidence required for certifying cement grinders/blenders (section E2.02) can now be the same as that used for concrete plants, streamlining the certification process.
Alternative Evidence for Germany:
M5.01/M5.02: The update introduces IDW EPS 991 as an alternative form of evidence for compliance within Germany. This addition provides greater flexibility for companies in meeting the certification requirements.
These updates underscore CSC’s ongoing efforts to refine its certification processes, incorporating new tools and methods to enhance the accuracy and consistency of sustainability assessments.
