Italy’s Demand for Sustainable Concrete Grows: Betonrossi Achieves CSC Certification

July 29, 2024

Betonrossi S.p.A. has successfully achieved the CSC Bronze Certification for its Cernusco sul Naviglio (MI) plant, building on the certification of its Piacenza (PC) plant obtained in 2022. This milestone highlights Betonrossi’s dedication to sustainable and excellent practices in the concrete industry, aligning with the rigorous standards set by the Concrete Sustainability Council (CSC).

The CSC, established by the world’s leading cement and concrete producers, civil society organizations, and academia under the roof of the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD), promotes this international certification to showcase environmental, economic, and social sustainability practices across the entire supply chain. The certification scheme ensures responsible management of concrete production, reinforcing sustainability values within the industry through a transparent and standardized approach.

In Italy, the CSC certification scheme is facilitated by Federbeton, the Regional System Operator. Federbeton provides technical and application support to companies seeking certification and oversees relationships with certification bodies.

“Betonrossi S.p.A. believes in sustainable practices for concrete and the importance of certifications. These represent not only a new added value for our customers but also concrete evidence of our commitment to building a more sustainable future,” stated Costa Antonio, CEO of Betonrossi Gruppo Cementirossi.

This achievement marks a significant step forward in Italy’s growing demand for sustainable concrete solutions, further positioning Betonrossi as a leader in the industry.
