Heidelberg Materials Italia continues its commitment to responsible sourcing by continuing to grow its portfolio of CSC-certified ready-mixed concrete plants in Italy. The five plants of Salerno and Baronissi (Campania – South Italy), Genova Molassana (Genoa Metropolitan area), Carbonia and Oristano (Sardinia Island) received their first CSC certificate: Salerno (photo below) and Baronissi were certified at the level “Gold”, Genova Molassana, Carbonia and Oristano at the level “Silver”.
CSC-certified concrete can contribute to improve the rating of LEED and BREEM certified Green Buildings. The sustainability credentials of CSC-certified concrete also provide enhanced credibility in Italian Green Public Procurement (C.A.M.) when using low-carbon cements and recycled aggregates in concrete production.
