The Concrete Sustainability Council (CSC) is proud to announce that Belgium has achieved a significant landmark with the certification of 100 concrete plants. This remarkable accomplishment is a testament to the growing commitment of the Belgian concrete industry to sustainable practices. The 100th CSC certificate was awarded to Trans-Beton, which received three bronze certificates for its concrete plants located in Ghent, Lokeren, and Roeselare. This achievement highlights the rapid progress made by Belgian concrete producers in adopting and implementing sustainable practices. “Nice work!” says CSC in recognizing Trans-Beton’s efforts.
“When we awarded the first Belgian CSC certificates in September 2019, we never dreamed we would reach the 100-certificate mark less than five years later,” said a CSC spokesperson. “But this is certainly not an end point. Interest in CSC continues to grow, both among producers and clients.” says Bert De Schrijver, Technical Advisor at Fedbeton
The increasing interest in CSC certification is evident with organizations like TUC RAIL, which has recently included CSC certification as an additional requirement for concrete plants in its specifications. This move further underscores the importance of sustainable practices in the construction industry and the growing recognition of CSC certification as a mark of excellence.
The Concrete Sustainability Council encourages more producers to join the movement towards sustainability and to achieve CSC certification, which not only benefits the environment but also enhances the credibility and marketability of concrete products.
