Beton 2023 Congress & Exhibition took place from the 8th until the 11th November 2023 in Istanbul, Turkey.
The event was organized by the Turkish Ready Mixed Concrete Association, THBB, which is also CSC’s Regional System Operator in Turkey. It brought together the ready mixed concrete, cement, aggregate, and construction sectors. The Conference was organized in honor of Prof. Dr. Mehmet Ali Taşdemir.
Beton 2023 is a key exhibition and congress in Turkey and the region in the construction material sector. There were more than 1’000 attendees at the Congress and more than 12’000 visitors at the exhibition.
Cynthia Imesch, the CSC Coordinator and Sustainability Manager, was able to present the paper “Circular Economy and Sustainability in Concrete”, which was one of the key conference subjects during the event. She was also able to meet with key Stakeholders such as representatives of ÇEDBİK, the Turkish Green Building label, with a representative of the Ministry of Environment and Urbanisation and Climate Change and a Representative of Vocational Qualifications Authority. She also met with Companies interested in getting CSC certified.
An award ceremony was organized on the 10th of November, where 13 CSC certificates were handed over, among them for the first time in Turkey, a CSC Platinum Certificate for concrete to ISTON A.S. Hadimkoy Fabrikasi.
This confirms that Turkey is one of the leaders in moving the sector to a sustainable transition.
