CSC Managing Director
Concrete Sustainability Council (CSC)
The CSC is an international, Swiss-based non-for-profit organization that was initiated by the WBCSD in collaboration with leading cement and concrete producers.
The CSC developed and is in the process of rolling out “CSC-certification,” a global certification system that provides transparent information on the extent to which companies in the concrete, cement and aggregates sector operate in an environmentally, socially and economically responsible manner.
The CSC is now looking for a CSC Managing Director
Tasks
CSC Management
● Leading the CSC operational team
○ Organizational and disciplinary leadership of the CSC Team (currently Technical Manager and Sustainability Manager)
● Assuming the responsibility for the CSC’s operational business
○ CSC Certifications along all processes
○ CSC governance processes, e.g. Executive Committee, Advisory Committee, Annual General Meeting, other Committees etc.
○ CSC technical developments, e.g. topics like CO₂, resources or biodiversity
○ IT infrastructure and CSC toolbox, in alignment with the CSC Tool Coordinator
○ Intellectual property and other legal matters
○ Financial controlling and planning
● Continuous evaluation and improvement of the CSC operation towards lean processes
CSC Business Development
● Defining the CSC strategy and driving its implementation (roll-out of roadmap)
● Promoting the CSC development in existing and into new markets
● Proactive and continuous screening of opportunities for further development of CSC markets and activities
● Critically reviewing CSC’s engagements against investment and possible gains/losses
CSC Representation
● Senior representation of the CSC
○ at conferences / roundtables
○ towards internal and external stakeholders

▪ NGOs / CSOs
▪ Green Building Councils
▪ Industry Associations
Profile
● University Degree in a relevant technical field (e.g. Engineering, Environmental Science, Sustainable Development, or equivalent)
● 3 years of professional experience in similar positions or technical roles in the industry or an association
● Flexibility for business travelling (approx. 20 – 30%)
Functional and Technical Skills
● Operational experience in the concrete and/or cement sector or associated industries
● Proven management and organizational skills
● Good knowledge of project management tools and techniques
● Knowledge of main IT tools
● Fluency in English a must, Spanish, French, Italian or German is a plus
Soft Skills
● Leadership skills in an ambiguous environment
● Strategic vision
● Interest and passion for topics related to Sustainable Development in the mineral materials industry
